— Emohua Local Government To Commence Construction Work At Ahia-Eke Road In April
As the Emohua LGA campaign council of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) intensifies efforts to galvanize eligible voters across the LGA through its ward-to-ward sensitization and mobilization rallies across the 14 political wards in the LGA, the coordinator of the campaign council and chairman of the LGA, Dr Chidi Lloyd has expressed optimism that the polling units across Ibaa community (Ward 6) were already taken by the PDP.
The council chairman said the Rivers PDP under the leadership of Governor Nyesom Wike doesn’t need to campaign in Ibaa community ahead of the 2023 general election because the party had already concluded its campaign in the community with the construction of the Rumuji-Ibaa-Obelle-Isiokpo road which is the main access and link road between Ibaa and neighbouring communities in Emohua and Ikwerre LGAs.
Speaking at the PDP sensitization rally held in Ibaa community (Ward 6) in continuation of the ward-to-ward visit of the Emohua LGA campaign council, Dr Chidi Lloyd also noted that the PDP had recognized the people of Ibaa community with political positions more than any other political party had done, hence the party feels very much at home in the community in the forthcoming general election.
He expressed gratitude to the immediate past Rivers State commissioner for housing, Elder Chinedu Tasie Nwobueze for his effective leadership of the PDP in Ibaa community, which the council chairman said has put the party on the ground in the community ahead of the general election.
“For us, we don’t need to campaign here because Ibaa is already taken. We are only here to introduce our candidates to you.
“Anybody driving into Ibaa community knows that the campaign had already been concluded here. We all know what Ibaa road was before the PDP administration in Rivers State came and turned it into what it is today.
“The PDP has also recognized the community with political positions. So, this election is to appreciate the party while asking for more.
“I want to thank the former commissioner, Elder Chinedu Tasie and others working with him for providing effective leadership in Ibaa. We can see clearly that Ibaa is already taken; Ibaa is in the bag”.
The Emohua council Boss who appreciated the women of Ibaa community who turned out in their numbers at the rally, enjoined the youths of the community to jettison crime and criminality and make sacrifices to sustain the relative peace currently enjoyed in the community, stressing that it is only a peaceful community that attracts government presence.
The council chairman who is also a recognized chief in Ibaa community further disclosed that plans were underway to commence the construction of the Ahia-Eke road in Ibaa community in April in continuation of his administration’s infrastructure revolution across Emohua LGA.
Former Rivers State commissioner for Housing and leader of PDP in Ibaa, Elder Chinedu Tasie Nwobueze and other leaders of the party in Ibaa (ward 6) unanimously assured the leadership of the party in the LGA that the polling units across the ward were already secured for Rivers PDP candidates in the forthcoming general election.
Elder Chinedu Tasie said the people are grateful to Governor Nyesom Wike and the PDP for the show of magnanimity to Ibaa community through project distribution and political recognition, hence their resolve to register their appreciation with their voters’ cards at the polls.
Speaking further, the immediate past Rivers Housing Commissioner expressed gratitude to the chairman of Emohua LGA, Dr Chidi Lloyd for the peace and security prevalent in Ibaa community, while appealing for the profiling and admission of Ibaa youths into the Emohua local government security architecture otherwise know as the Emohua local government vigilante services (EMOVIS), to sustain the already existing peace and security in the community.
The leader of Emohua local government legislative assembly, Hon Mrs Love Nyenke reassured that women of Ibaa community will not hesitate to adhere to the directives from the leader of PDP and Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike on the choice of candidates for all elective positions in the 2023 general election.
Other leaders of the PDP who spoke at the rally include the Chief of Staff at Rivers State Government House, Chief Emeka Woke; the Chairman of PDP in Emohua LGA, Hon Uche Minikwu and the leader of PDP caucus in the LGA, Eze Paul Wonodi, who took turns to encourage the people of Ibaa to deliver the 21 polling units across the ward 6 for candidates of the party in appreciation of the party’s magnanimity to the community.
Chief Emeka Woke while thanking God for the restoration of peace in Ibaa community, urged the people to take advantage of the forthcoming election to show appreciation to the party that gave them road and political recognition.
The former Emohua LGA chairman who expressed optimism that the PDP would emerge victorious across the polling units in Ibaa community, however, charged the people to be vigilant and prepared to neutralize the machinations of members of the opposition who are only out to frustrate the electoral process.
Eze Paul Wonodi urged politicians in Ibaa community to exhibit persistence and patience in their service to the PDP, stressing that there is a great reward for unwavering loyalty and commitment to the party.
Amongst prominent leaders of the PDP who attended the Ibaa rally was the State Assembly candidate for Emohua constituency seat, Hon Justina Emeji; serving commissioner in the Rivers State Ministry of Environment, Barr Emenike Geoffrey-Eke and Erstwhile Commissioner in the State Assembly Service Commission, Hon Arthur Uchendu.
Others include Erstwhile caretaker committee chairmen of Emohua LGA, Engr Nnamdi Abah and Hon John Wokoma; Member Rivers State Board of Internal Revenue, Hon Ossa Uchendu and secretary to Emohua Local Government, Chief Vincent Chukwu.
Earlier, the chairman of Emohua LGA and PDP campaign coordinator, Dr Chidi Lloyd led the PDP campaign council and the leadership of the party in LGA to the palace of the paramount ruler of Ibaa community, Eze Jonah Wobodo to seek the royal blessing and formal permission to use the community square for the sensitization rally.
